Default Sync issue

I have a 2012 Escape with Sync. When I get a phone call, the person calling can hear himself talking, like an echo.
Anyone know of a cure for this?

Try turning the volume down, it may be a feedback issue, worked for me as I had the same problem.

What do I turn the volume down on? The car or the phone itself?

Try turning down the radio volume. It means the person will be harder to hear but it may help. There should also be finer settings where you can control phone specific volume on your car ... not on the phone itself, at least I have that on mine but I have NAV.
