Changing headlight bulbs-2010 escape

Has anyone changed the headlight bulbs for a 2010 escape yet ? I got some silverstars and they said they were supposed to be brighter then factory bulbs.

I got the plug off back of bulb but got stuck from here. I got the rubber boot half off but was afraid to rip it & still couldnt turn bulb either clockwise or counter clockwise. is there something else that has to be done before turning bulb ?

I changed my headlights last night to a 6000k bi xenon hid's and had a little trouble getting the bulbs out too. After about ten minutes I found just a slight turn counter clockwise with slight pressure back and down made them come out fairly easy.
Normally they turn a good 1/4 turn and poip out, this is the first time I encountered such a hassel just getting the bulb out
Hope this helps a little.

Cheers

Do the silverstar make any difference? I have an 08 and compared to my 98 B 2500 I thought the escape was really bright.
But in Nov 11 I hit a dear and am thinking about getting brighter bulbs

Slyvania Ultra seemed to be the advertised brightest and widest.

But in reviews some say they see a huge difference and others say not much. Since they also have a shorter life span, I was wondering if anyone knows the ratings on the bulbs in Escapes and if there are bulbs the CLEARLY are better than what come in the 08 Escape.
