Check Engine Light code P1A42, U0100, U1011

My new Escape PHEV has displayed the check engine light three times. Each time it is after charging it all night. The codes are P1A42, U0100, U1011. The light goes away the next time the car is started.

I've had at the dealer, but the codes don't appear for them. :)

Any ideas?

If and when the code goes away, that means it is no longer a problem, great. Not to worry.

I appreciate that. But there is another issue that occurs. Sometimes the battery usage almost doubles. A route that I frequently take - 13 miles total, usually uses about 13-14 miles from the remaining charge. But sometimes it uses 25 miles from the charge. About the same temperature, same route, and typical traffic.

It doesn't necessarily correlate with the check engine light. But since the code description is about communication around the battery modules, I'm thinking there may be a deeper problem.that doesn't necessarily result in a check engine light.

When you say"new" vehicle, does that mean it is a 2025 or new to you? If it is not a 2025 ,then we need to know what year because the battery may have a problem.

A new 2026 with about 1200 miles, delivered about 2 months ago.

You might consider just having the dealership handle all problems which should be covered by warranty.
