Default Alternator or wiring 2015 escape

Hey all! New here I didn't know we're else to turn so maybe someone here has an idea this is a 2015 escape 2.5 Ecoboost. I'm Trying to locate were the single blue/yel wire at alternator is connected too, is it in the pcm or behind the dash? Any splices with it? Does it receive a pcm signal or does it just control the battery light on the dash? It is charging the battery but the battery light comes on after 10 seconds and doesn't go off, alternator is at about 14.5 volts. Unplugging the connection makes no difference.im trying to see if it's wiring or alternator issues. I had a logged code but it didn't set a cel.says lost communication with generator control module a. Anybody who can help or give me any ideas.i greatly appreciate it!

Do you have the 1.6 ecoboost, 2.0 ecoboost, and 2.5 duratech?
There is not a 2.5 ecoboost.
The wire that goes from the alternator goes to the PCM and is a LIN wire. I believe if it has a active grill shutter the same wire goes to it.
Also looking over the 1.6, 2.0, and 2.5 alternator wiring none of them show a blue/yellow wire.

In my experience with fords 95% its the alternator, I would recommend a OEM motorcraft alternator, aftermarkets dont seem to last.

Apologize it's a duratech then. It does have active grill shutters and they were stuck closed I'm getting a voltage low on them as well I unplugged the motor to see if it made a difference and it didn't. Are they spliced or joined together anywhere? If the alternator wire and grill shutters share a power source it makes me believe it's something tied in with that since I'm having issues with both

Also I have checked the AGS fuse and it's not blown I didn't see any fuses blown I had checked them all

I believe the active grill shutter is suppose to be closed till the engine warms up and at interstate speeds for better aerodynamics.
Here is the wiring diagram for the 2.5 alternator. The wire is a LIN network. It goes from the alternator to a splice then one branch goes to the PCM the other goes through the fuse box(but doesnt use a fuse) then to the active grill shutter.
If you look at the connection sheet, it clearly says not PCM control for pin 2.
The Ford diag for active grill calls for a high end scan tool that can pull network codes.
The vehicles that Ive seen with a bad active grill is that its usually broken in open position.

Is that lin supposed to have a certain voltage at all times ? I'm going to check out the splice since I'm having issues with both maybe I'll get lucky kill two birds with one stone. But if there's nothing wrong with it I'm stuck 😂

LIN is a information network, its a slower version of a CAN network that has less important information on it.
The only way I know how to test LIN wires is to ohm them out, same as CAN networks.'

WAIT A MINUTE, You said there isnt a CEL, but something says lost communication with generator control module. Where did you get this message, did you pull codes?

Yes I pulled codes sorry I didn't get notified of your last response. There wasn't a check engine code just a battery light and the error in the ECU. It ended up being the alternator we replaced it and problem solved. I guess we got a bad reman
