Default throttle body

Hey I need some help here. I have a 2009 Ford Escape. It lost acceleration and put the wrench icon on my dash (powertrain/trottlebody) I did some research and ended up cleaning the butterfly valve in my throttle body. It was quite dirty and cleaning it did the trick for about 6 weeks. Now it seems to lose acceleration every time it down shifts. I had to limp home. I cleaned it again and it lasted for a few hours and now i can hardly drive it. Do I need to replace my throttle body? Any suggestions?
