Tire size question?

Hello guys. I have a 2007 escape XLS, 4cyl. I want to get new tires. The size of the tires on the car now is a P225/R75/15. I want to put P235/R75/15 new tires on the car. From what I understand, the difference is about 10mm in width.
This comes out to about a 1/4" wider on each side. A guy at a tire place told me that changing the size like that might make a dash light come on because the computer might now be confused, and maybe the TPMS might throw a signal.
Do you think this is a concern? By going up a little in that size I will be able to get some Michelin tires. Thank you for your input!!

The computer and the TPMS will be fine. The section width is measured at the side wall. That being said, the 10mm difference actually works out to about 1/8" wider on each side and about a 3/16" taller tire. As long as all 4 tires are the same height, the TPMS will not care as all 4 tires will be turning at the same speed. I run a P235/70R16 on my 04 Freestar and the stock tire size is a P225/60/16. Have done so since the van had 3,000 miles on it. At 178,000+ miles, the TPMS still works as design and doesn't care about tire size.

Go for it. The best tires I ever ran on my 97 and 01 Explorer Sports were the Michelin LTX M/S tires. They road great and seemed to wear forever. Had great traction in the snow also.
