Where do these bolts go?
 

Okay, took these off a wrecked 2013 Escape about 8 months ago and can't remember where they go. There are 2 of them. The parts taken off as part of the repair were front bumper, hood, right fender.
As many different bolts and screws that I have tracked, these should be obvious - they seem to be a cosmetically designed versus pure function - but I am drawing a blank.
Ideas?

The numbers indicate a metric hi strength bolt. Good possibility a bumper bolt.

Too small for bumper and too strong for fender but I would suspect a hood bolt.

With that large a fender washer I'd look at places with a large slip-fit. You see those used on fenderwells and extensions, and other places mating two pieces of sheetmetal - shrouds, plenums ....

Hood bolt would be a good one as well.

Hi strength bolts are expensive and I doubt any manufacturer would spend the money to just hold on a hood or fender..
They could have been used to hold the engine cradle in place depending on how much damage you are working on.

Approx what is the length and diameter also socket size? I would guess around 18- 21 mm.socket

A high strength bolt and a large washer like that could be used with the hood. 18-21mm socket size?? That would mean the washer is close to two inches. Based on the image, looks to be 13mm.

It is amazing how different people see different things looking at the same object.

How long will we need to wait to get the dimensions of that bolt?
Have you ever seen a grade 8 bolt holding a hood on?
I have seen that strength bolt holding on door hinges,, suspension and steering parts, but not a hood assy.

As counter-intuitive as it seems, those could be at some determined 'certified' crumple zone connection and that can be anywhere. I just bring out the egg cartons and stickies and a camera when wrenching so my mind can stay blank. It's been over 2 weeks so they're either run home and tight, or, in the spares bin after driving the OP crazy.

He likely won't be back as many first timers often post and vanish. I got to say I never seen a bumper bolt with such a large washer on it.
If it had a 18-21mm hex on it as you suspect, that washer could be around 1/1/2 inches.I have seen high strength bolts associated with the hood and its hinges.
For me, it's not worth any further comments since it appears the OP solved his issue and moved on.

IDK, whether the fake wood grain for scale or so many things I've seen like it, but it just struck me as an 8 or 10mm head. I did notice right off it was oriented specifically NOT to show threads whether machine screw = fine or course or even s.m. thread.

But yah, the OP ain't logged on since their post above. My interest is finally tapped out.*
