You have a choice of two things and they are to get your hands on either a test light or a voltmeter.
What you need to do is to confirm that power is available to the magnetic clutch on the compressor. Always check the fuses first !! There is usually a plug connection in the wire to the compressor. With a test light or meter , connect the test lite to that wire when the A/C is turned on, it should lite confirming that power is available to the clutch. If it doesn't show power to be available, now you need to backtrack to the cycling switch on the accumulator, then to the Switch in the vehicle. If no power determine where it gets lost.
If you find you do have power to the clutch, then make sure there is a good ground connection at the clutch. If you have both power and a good ground , the clutch is defective and will need to be replaced.
