92 Escort engine issues
 

Hi, this is my first post so, please go easy on me.

I have a 92 escort LX 1.9 wagon and, whenever I drive her, she feels like she's almost misfiring for about the first 5-10 minutes of driving. After that, she drives just fine ( aside from tranny slip but, I know about that ). The other issue I'm having is that she appears to surge sometimes as well, even with regular driving.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and am fairly competant with regards to cars etc.
