How does one get into the dash to change bulbs behind tach and speedometer? 1997 Escort sedan

You will have to remove the trim from around the cluster.Then remove the speedo cluster to get to the bulbs.

I did mine by removing the 4 bolts holding up the steering colum. let the steering wheel rest on the seat and reach up behing the cluster and feel for the bulbs. Took me about a hour from start to finish. The hardest part was finding the correct bulb to replace, there are several back there. Removing the entire cluster in a pain in the a** and takes too long.
