Default HVAC Blower Dead

Hi,
I have 98 Escort LX. Out of the blue the blower just died on me. I was thinking about replacing the resistor and seeing what happens but from reading some posts I noticed if the resistor is bad the blower only works in higher settings. My blower doesn't work at any setting. Any ideas on what I could?

Check for 12v at the blower motor when switched on.. If not,, check the fuse in the I/P fuse panel.. Also, there is a blower relay in the relay box under the dash.. Here's a few illustrations for clarity..

I had the same problem with my 2000 Ford Escort. Replaced the resistor. Did not work. Turned out to the the blower motor. Bought a used one on EBay for $35.00. A new one cost well over $100.
