p1380 code on 1998 Ford Escort ZX2
 

I have engine lite on which is Code P1380 , Variable timing control sloenoid. The car runs great, there is no performance issues on any kind. I erase the code. Next time i start the car, the check engine lite is back on with same code P1380. How do i fix this problem?
