Removal of radio

i bought a 96 ford escort lx and someone that had it previosly had installed a cd player in iti now have a new cd player i would like to install but i am not sure of how to get the old one out. will i have to remove the dashboard in order to remove the cd player in it now? i tired pulling it out from the front bt it may be screwed in from the sides.

:eek:Go to your Local Auto Store and bye a special tool that will help you to remove the counsle..This tool looks like a wire type horseshoe....." u " There are two and you will insert them into the little holes...push inwards...then pull side to side, and then back...

Also you may want to get a Haynes manual for this vehicle to help with repairs.:D
