Default Transplanting a 93 Escort drive train into a 90 Escort.

Hey, I'm new to the forums and I had this question. I've got a 1990 escort. The model between the old 80's style and the new 90's style. built from mid 88 to mid 90 i believe. I was wondering if it is possible to transplant the drive train from the newer style into mine. Because mine is only a throttle bodied 1.9L and the new one that we have is a EFI 1.9L with a lot more power and a better gear ratio and better gas mileage. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott
