ZX2 run rough, choking out, replaced coolant temp sensor and ran great for an hour
 

Hey everybody! I posted yesterday about my ZX2, but went and had codes read....:(. I had been having problems with the car choking out and smelling like fuel. I changed several things such as spark plugs, air filter, pcv valve, ignition coil...with no change in operation. Then I changed the coolant temp sensor yesterday, and the car ran great for about an hour....then started choking out again and died when I got home and hit the gas in the drive way. Now I am having the same problems again. I took to Advance Auto and they read the codes. They are as follows: number 1 misfire, number 4 misfire, crankshaft sensor (A or bank 1, or single cylinder), mixture too rich.
I think I have the translation right. I never had the cranshaft sensor code before...that is something new. I am wondering if the crankshaft sensor reading is a false reading, because of the mixture being to rich and the car operating funny. If the sensor reading is true...i think I know what that entails, and it probably means the car is done for me....Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Don't give up yet. It could be something as simple as a bad injector. Not that famimiar with your model.

Something is telling the computer to increase fuel to the engine. There are many things that could cause that. If the oxygen sensor is sending a lean signal to the computer the result will be to enrichen the injector on time , therefore too much fuel to engine, Check all the vacuum hoses. Also possibility of problem with fuel pressure regulator. I wouldn't go replacing all these parts without being reasonably sure of them being defective.
