Does anyone know how to remove/bypass this on a manual trans. car?

 

certain aftermarket tuners will solve the problem. bamachips uses the xcalibratior2 tuner and you can remove the limiter or set it to any of the different options.

 

What is a speed limiter? I just bought a 2000 ZX2 S/R, and noticed this post. Is it like a rev limiter, andor why would it be removed?

A speed limiter is exactly what it sounds like. Most, if not all, ZX2s are limited to 106mph. The car obviously has the potential to go faster than that, but manufacturers set these limiters to whatever value they see fit for various safety reasons. It is an electronic device that cuts the fuel flow to the engine when it reaches the set speed. Your SR may not have one or it may be set higher, I don't know, but a ZX2 probably has the potential to reach 130mph. And most of us ZX2 owners would love to override the limiter if possible.

P.S.S. Also, I don't beleive ZX2s have rev limiters....

 

there is a black/white wire which when cut removes the speed governor. You will need to put a toggle switch on it or similar because it will cause a check engine light

 

don’t remember how to use this website but bought a 02zx2 for cheap how do I get rid of the limiter and get it over 105 it’s a automatic also
