Anyone out there know how to disconnect the door open chimes, this thing is driving me crazy.

So you can have the key in the ignition, or ignition ON/ACC with the door open?

just the key in the ignition would be ok, but mine chimes anytime the door is open with or with out key in ignition let a lone having the key on acc.

Sounds like the plastic retainer that holds the 'key in ignition' grounding tang may have broken and the tang is grounded out.. You might try and remove/seperate the steering column covers and with the key in the ON position, depress the pin on the under side of the ignition lockset and pull the lockset out.. Slide the plastic retainer off (if its not broken) reinstall the lockset and see if the tone cancels.. If it still has the chime with the ground at the key removed, it may be a circuit or GEM problem..
