black smoke low power
 
I just bought a 2004 ford excursion 6.0 turbo diesel and its sluggish to take off and lots of black smoke when i give it more gas. Please if anyone knows what this problem might be i would greately appreciate it! thank you in advance.

and the answer is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.when they went to the 6.0 they alkso used electric injectors and computers.iis the suv come with any type of warrenty????large amounts of black smoke means your running rich,to much fuel. how many miles and ant maintaince records???

A restricted air filter can cause a diesel to emit black smoke and experience a power loss. Easy and cheap check, let us know what you find. Thanks, hanky
