Overhead Console Switch
 

How in the world to you change out the light switch to the overhead console in a 01 EX ?? My wife pushed on it the other day and it broke, I took the light cover off and can figure out how to get the bulb out but not the switch.

I believe those are only serviced in the assembly. Take it to your local dealer and have the parts guy check it out.

I'm in the same situation. I have an 2000 and the overhead console map light switch no longer has a 'spring' to return the button. I came here looking for some input. It looks like the console drops down with just a few screws. Then?????????????????

I just went through this on an Excursion, you have to buy the entire console because the switches are not serviced individually. The cost for my Exc was $1041.00. Needless to say, I did not buy it. Either find one in a junkyard, look on ebay, or live without 1 map light.

Ran into problem when kid pushed too hard on switch and didn't tell me until I noticed. Found a push button canopy switch with 2 terminals(no extra for door switch dome light) part number 30-19886. Could use a diode to connect black wire to light if you want dome light with door switch.

can you pleas explain which wires you connected to the switches? I bought them and realized there is only 2 terminals. And which wire is the door switch? Can I just add a third light using the door switch wire and a ground? I was thinking of using an led panel for the door switch light.
