I like my 01 expedition. It has 145K miles. I took it over from my spouse so I don't know alot about how it rode for the last 6 years and am sure there were no serious problems. About 5 weekd ago, I had the oil changed. The guy said I was down to 2 quarts and that the previous service technician probably didn't fill the oil up completely. No problem. Today, I get the oil changed again at a different place and the guy says your down to 2 quarts. I'm thinking leak! The serviceman checks the exhaust for smoke, but there is none. I know there is no staining in the driveway. Can I be leaking oil in an un-detectable way? What should I do?

I had the same prob. and found out that the full syn. oil I was using was to thin for an engine with 100,000 miles or more, so I switched to syn blend, and stopped using oil as ifI turned off a faucet
