2003 Expedition 4.6L
 

I got a expo with 160K. I did a tune up on it with 99K miles. Last weekend, as i pulled out to go to work, it turned off. It shook a little before it cut off. Then I turned it back on and kept trying to pull out of the parking spot and it turned off again. WhIen I put it on drive, it drove fine. No shaking. Drove it all the way to the shop. No problems while we were there. We got the following codes:
P0171-MAF Sensor
P0174-MAF Sensor
P0430-TPS Sensor
P0620-Coil

Anybody got any help? Thanks.

I would suggest a good visual inspection to start with.
There could be a vacuum hose possibly off or cracking, a coil with a loose plug on connection,maybe even a questionable fuel filter or fuel.
If the problem doesn't present itself again , you might just wait and see what if anything happens. As you can see it is an intermittent and sometimes they can take you for a real ride when there is presently nothing wrong.
Did it just happen to rain before this happened?

If the fuel pump has never been replaced they can sometimes give similar symptoms when they are getting tired.

Thank you. I checked for loose hoses initially. That was my first thought. Did not notice anything. My automobile knowledge is extremely limited but, some of the guys I work with suggested some of the same things you did. So, I'll start with the fuel stuff that I can do on my own. I got the MAF sensor changed out a couple of months ago. Pretty sure there is a warranty on that part if it does need to be changed and the tune-up type stuff I can find a good shop if necessary.

Sometimes when we suspect the MAF sensor , we just disconnect it and see if the problem disappears. When this is done the system returns to a default program and substitutes settings temporarily to help the engine run.
I would be more inclined to suspect a vacuum leak condition more so than a MAF problem with those codes. (P0171 & P0174)
