2003 FORD EXPEDITION CATALYTIC CONVERTER....HELP!!!

Hey..I posted a few weeks ago about a problem I was havivng with some vacuum hoses coming off or melting. Anyway, mechanic has found out my catalytic converter is shot! The dealer just sold me this vehicle the second week of December. My mechanic has been looking for an after market converter and has had no luck. Also, we have checked with several of our friends who own salvage yards hoping they would have something that would work...NO LUCK!! Does anyone know where we can get a good deal on a GOOD QUALITY catalytic converter for 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

None are too good 'cause non have a bypass. But you might find a decent new one on Ebay or something.

hello,

are the catalytic converters bolted? or welded? im trying to find out if i can ask a friend who can remove them (bolted) so i can soak the catalytic converter overnight with soap, per a suggestion , it is said that it helps to clean them as i have been having sensor issues. ford is charging me 3,000 to replace both catalytic converter.

thank you
