Default brake lights not working 2000 Expedition

My brake lights aren't working. , But my third brake light on top of the hatch works fine. and turn signals and parking lights work fine. The brake lights don't work. I checked the fuse panel under the steering column and they are all ok. I also checked the fuse panel under the hood. I also checked the bulbs and they are fine. Does any one has some suggestions on were I should look next. Thanks Brian

If the 3rd lite is working , I would have to say your brake lite switch is good , Get a electrical tester an check for power at the socket where the lite buld goes . See if you got juice there , Also you might have a bad ground on that circuit, causing the lites not to work .

the bulbs have three wires each. shareing the same ground , the parking lights are working on the same bulb. and the turn signal works on the same bulb also . so its not the ground wire or the bulbs. right? Still looking i'm lost..

no volts through wire with brakes only works for parking lights and turn signal.

Oh geessss, Sorry missed the boat on that one !!!!! yea if you have tail lites then yea you got ground on that plug , What about a trailer plug on your vechile any chance is killing your brake lites ? like being partil un-plugged ? I got a web site for you that should have a wiring diagram, The only thing I can think of is a faulty turn signal switch , as your brake lites run trough it .http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...Parameters=006

I have the same issue. All bulbs and fuses check good. 3rd light checks good. at the trailer electrical connection, turn signal and trail brakes check Okay but the trailer lights do not work. The brake switch appears to work as the 3rd light and the trailer brakes work. \Any idea of what could be the problem? Thanks!!
