HELP!!!! 97 EXPY WON'T START
Hello all, I have a 97 expy and it was fine until I let my cousin put in a radio. He had the aftermarket wire harness on and the power constant (yellow) wire hit another wire and that was it. When using his test light, that wire was no longer hot but all of the fuses were fine inside of the truck and under the hood also. The only thing I think it may be is a relay because now the truck won't start. It started for a minute and then shut down as I was driving, it did this twice.
I was wondering if that power contant wire is tied into anything that would stop the truck from starting, and if that's the case, why would it start at all and then shut down?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for your reply haya, the fuel pump was my first thought especially since it has over 114000 on it and my wife lets it go to near empty before she or should i say i put gas in it. also, i checked all of the fuses but was not able to check the relays in that box. I still don't understand in any way how even a wire could cause this, i would thinka fuse would protect anything like thatand if that were the case, why would it start and run for any amount of time? I wonder what else that power constant wire could be conected to that would possibly cause this.
Does this sound anything like it could be electrical and not the fuel pump?

But again,, do you 'hear' the fuel pump run? with the key cycled ON or bumping the starter, or can verify fuel pressure and a spark present? I don't see a 'yellow' wire 'constant hot' at the radio connector other than from the radio audio output tothe amp and to the rear integrated control panel.. The radio 'hot at all times' S/B a White/Pink wire, and 'hot in run/acc' as a Black/Pink.. PATS theft lamp indicator flashing?
yes it does sound like the fuel pump is coming on, but i spoke to someone and was informed that it could be the fuel cut off switch on the passenger side kick panel, he said that it could have been hit while we were working and it just has to be reset by pressing it in and turning the key 2-3 times to build up pressure. After looking through the fuse box inside the truck I noticed that the number 30 fuse is loose to the point that every time I tap it, the theft light come on and off on the cluster and I can actually hear a clicking sound and I was told that it's the the power for the engine computer. I'll check this out and let you know how it works out.
