high temp low oil light on. 03 Expedition

My 03 Expedition will not stay running once it as warmed up, and runs real rough. Local mechanic thinks its an electrical prob. Could be bad sensor.
High temp low oil light on, searched this light came back as thermostat? all gages read normal, it has the 5.4L with about 71000 miles.
Any ideas, any help. Wife wants her truck back.:(

Thanks, Mybigdogz
