Default Not critical but very annoying

About three months ago my indicator needle on my gear selector stopped lining up with the appropriate gear choice. For example, if I shift the truck into Reverse, the needle actually sits between R and N, when I shift into Drive, it sits between D and 2. It is always to the right of the actual gear selected and is half way or more to the nexts selection in the display.

Any idea on how to get these lined up again? Also, my cruise control seems to have stopped working (these did not happen simultaneously). Cruise is not a big deal as I usually only use this truck for towing, and I don't tow with cruise on, but it would be nice to have it back.

Thanks in advance for help/advice.

On the underside of the steering column is the indicators needle'thumb screw' adjuster.. You'llneed to remove the steering colunmn cover for full acccess... I can send you the step process if needed.. Before you adjust the indicator, check the shifter/selector cable lever 'arm' at the bottom of the column.. There are 2 torx screws that attach it and at times come loose causing 'shift position hunting'.. If the needle is just off, and the selector isn't sloppy its probably OK but should be checked..

Here a few pics for ID..
