I have a 03 bought new now with 46K miles. the Overdrive light now flashes when you are in first &second gears but goes out when you get to third and overdrive. but as oon as you slow down back into 2nd and 1st it flashes? It appears the Overdrive button does work - in that it will downshift if depressed and stay in only third if you have Overdrive not selected. Any ideas? could it be just a gremlin because it does not appear to be effecting the performance of the vehicle? any thoughts on curing it? could it be as simple as disconnecting the battery and reconnecting to eliminate it? What engine/trans? 4.6/5.4....

 

sorry been gone for a couple days. It has the 5.4 engine not sure ofthe transmission type but the vehicle was built in the summer of 02.
