Default 1999 Explorer Sport 4WD Question

Hi All:

I am looking at a real nice used Explorer Sport. I think they had an on demand 4WD option. How can I tell by looking at the vehicle to see if it has that option. Dealer does not know either.

Thanks

Gary

There will be a **** in the center of the dash. It will say 2WD, 4WD, Or AWD, depending on the system [sm=mail.gif]

I thought the full time 4WD had no controls at all.

[sm=mail.gif]Daughter's 1999 EDDIE BAUER AWD 4 door explorer has those controls on the ceneter dash, next to her radio. Did you look underneath to see if there is a driveshaft to the front differential?

Great place to start. Or you can look to see if there is a transfer case or front differental.
