Default 1999 Ford Explorer Transmission?

When I put my truck in reverse I heard a loud snap undferneath. As a result my truck will not go in reverse. While in the reverse, when I step on the gas, the engine just revs. I can howevergo forward (Drive), but I just can't back up. I have 105,000 miles on my truck. I just had the transmission overhauled at around 74,500. Is this a serious transmission problem? Or is there something that can simplybe repaired underneath the truck?

Thanks for your input!
