2000 explorer rear wiper motor

I have replaced the wiper rear motor four times within the last year, the last time the moter worked for less than a month. Is there something I need to check to see what the cause maybe other than bad motors?

The rear wiper on my 2000 explorer has worked intermittently over the years. The hatch ajar switch works, the wiper motor wants to click when the controls are operated, but will not operate now. Is this problem likely to require the motor replacement? I see them advertised on line in the $50-75 range. Is there more to the mechanism than what I see in that price range?

For any motor to work properly it has to have sufficient power available and good connections. Both of those can be checked with a simple multimeter.
I would like to ask one question, and that is how long did the original motor work?
Bad connections can come into the picture, but MOST of the time the replacement part is not made to the same specifications as the original unless it is of equivalent quality and you will usually wind up replacing it more often.

As the expression goes, " The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten".
