2000 ford explorer center console armrest
My fellow explorer owners,
I have had my explorer now for almost 8 years, and it has been one of the best things that I have ever purchased. I have never had any major issues with it, just a few minor do it yourself fixes (if you knew me, you would know that is limited to changing out the tail light bulbs and re-attaching the front underbumber), but now I find myself in a situation where I need others, your, expertise in helping me find a parts dealer that can locate, at a reasonable price, the center console armrest door (or utility compartment door as my owners manual calls it). I went to my local dealership, I know bad move, and they wanted $250.00 for this part!!! I was in shock, I went in planning on spending $100.00. All that is wrong with the console door is that the vinyl is torn ans is very uncomfortable when I drive. I mean for $250.00 I can get both of my 2 front seats re-upolstered!!! Is there anyone out there that can help me out with a website or a number where I can reach a parts store that will not rape me for this small part? Thank you in advance. Sbnak1 |

Have you looked on EBAY or checked with your local salvage yards?

E bay has kits to re doit yourself or to send it out to get done. Most auto upolstery shops do it to. Its usually about 50 bucks to do.
