2007 explorer v6 4.0L TPS SENSOR

would anyone know if when replacing the tps sensor would it need a software update from ford ? i started with a P2135 code checked and found all 4 wires going to the tps sensor with missing cracked wire insulation i repaired the wires the code P2135 went away but now the truck is intermittently running rough and hard starting stalling only intermittently if i change the tps sensor will i still have to go to ford to get a software update if i change the tps sensor??

You might try what is called a forced reset. That involves removing the negative battery cable from the battery post and holding the removed cable end against the positive cable end for approx. 15 min to allow the adaptive memory to go away. Then reconnect the cable to the negative post and start the vehicle and don't touch the throttle. Just let it idle a while and it will adapt to the new parts and reset itself. After about 15 minutes take it out and drive it normally. The more you drive it the better it should run.
