Overdrive wont kick in. Interstate ride is terrible without it. This is electronic right? Is it a solinoid? Why did this happen? Anybody had this problem or what what I can check?

 

Check fuses if it's electronically operated. Likely it's speed-controlled bya computer though. It would be better to go to a transmission shop to diagnose that if you don't have something simple wrong like a bad vacuum hose, fuse or unplugged wires.
