95 ford explorer mpg
 
i just got a 95 ford explorer and i get about 13 mpg. i was wondering if this was the norm or if there is anything that i can do to make it better.

I have the same thing with my 98' 4.0 sohc. I think its normal for all wheel drive/4 wheel drives.

1995 Explorer 4dr 4wd v6= 15-15.5 MPG

It all depends on how hard you goose the throttle, tire pressure and if your air intake is clean. I poped a performance K&N air intake system in my explorer and I got about 20 on the highway. But you have to account for my lightbar ontop that takes away miles.
