Default 95 Ford Explorer rear end problems?

i have a 95 explorer, and when i take off it pops realloudback by mypumpkin, could that mean i need a new rearend, ive also heard that maybe i need to replace the grease inside the pumkin because it wears thin after awhile,i checked my u-joints and the are practically new, im thinking its backlash, it doesnt do it through any other gear, just when i stop at a stop sign and when i take off, any ideas?
