'98 Ford Explorer Mysterious Hose, what is it?

https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...1e7125c128.jpgMystery hose coming out above wheel. Does anyone know what that is and where it belongs? It seems to have poked a hole through the metal. It was causing a rubbing sound while driving because the wheel was rubbing against it I believe.

Is this hose over a rear wheel, does your vehicle have a sun roof ?

Yes it's over the rear right wheel. It used to have a sunroof but we had someone fix to cover it and now it looks like it never had one.

Without knowing for sure, you might attach a piece of hose/tubing to that hose and either use a source of compressed air or just blow into the clean attached hose and see if you hear air escaping anywhere. It might have been a drain for the old sunroof .

Is that around where a sunroof drain would be? Am I right that it seems to have poked a hole through there or did it originally come out of there?
