hello, i finally got to the 99 ford
explorer 4x4 with 4.0 and the 5r55e trans and bad transfer case..

also is a 5r55e trans tough to rebuild..will i need any special tools? other then spring compressors,snap ring pliers. anything i can make?

Not sure if you can get the clutch seals in on all the clutch pistons without special tools.
I remember asking a trans rebuilder shop if I could rent a 1st, reverse clutch piston seal installer tool from them for a different trans and their reply was , oh we don't replace them , they don't give much trouble. I wound up buying the plastic cone for a whopping $6.00. I guess if you take your time , you will be OK.
