Hi.

New to the forum. I have a 2014 Explorer Sport and the battery dies if the car sits for more than 4 or 5 days.

I have taken it to the dealer and they checked to see if there is a drain somewhere but have found nothing. This happened on a fairly new Ford battery and the dealer even replaced the batter two additional times and it still continues to occur. I can't say that I have noticed much of a difference if it is the warmer or colder months. I do have a built in K40 radar detector and aftermarket amp -- these were installed well before this problem began happening. I don't believe that there should be that much of a drain from those two items to completely kill the battery as I have had these types of items in all of my cars for years and neve once ran into this type of battery issue.

Most recently I drove the car last Thursday night, Friday was cold and snowy and I auto started it Friday afternoon with no problem and then Saturday morning went to start it and it would not -- dash lit up. After trying to start about 3 more times it completely went dead. Jumped battery and it started right up.

Not sure if anyone has any thoughts or heard of any issues like this.

Have you had the charging system and your "new" battery checked? If the battery is not being properly charged sufficiently, it will go dead sooner. Are ALL connections associated with the starting and charging systems good and clean. You could connect a digital volt meter across the battery after the car sat over night. Statically, the battery should be around 12.6-12.7 volts and you should measure around 13.5 volts to 14 volts with the engine running.Also, I would make sure your "add ons" have been wired in such a way that they are not energized when the ignition is off thus draining your battery.
