electric compass/temperature display in 98 ford explorer XLT
 
Okay,my electric compass/temperature display that I have is showing that it is a negative forty degree's outside.Any idea's to fix the problem?All input would be appreciated.

The reading indicates an open circuit for the sensor. It could just mean the sensor is bad. Check the resistance at the sensor.
