Explorer Transmission Problems

I have a 2006 Ford Explorer V6 w/ the 5 speed automatic and the transmission is very delayed and hard when shifting gears and the throttle is very delayed. I took it to the dealer and they updated it to the latest calibration but ti's still not good. Am I supposed to reset the adaptive shift or something and how would I do that? It's very sluggish lately. Thanks

Not much help here, other than I have a similar problem. 2006 Explorer Limited, 4.6 V8. Hesitates on acceleration, from cold start until it is thoroughly warmed up. Dealer says no problems, it’s supposed to work that way.. Hard for me to believe. Not sure what to do next.

No, the late and harsh upshifts are not normal. You probably have a faulty pressure soleniod in the trans. Take it back to the dealer, have them check the trans operation, and if they still say it is normal, have them show you another Explorer that shifts like that.
