Default Ford Explorer 2000 won't start NEED HELP/ADVICE

When I started the engine two days ago with the cold start, I've noticed that it was weak and low idle with clanking chain & metal within the engine. I tried to accelerate the engine and the clanking noise becomes loader. I opened the engine hood but could not find any loose Fan belt connection or parts. The noise seems to come from the engine block.
I shifted the gear to drive and the car just stop and would no longer start.
I jumped start it but still would not start.

FYI.
The car was running fine last month and the only minor problem was a steady engine lights on in dashboard . I brought it to the Ford dealership for diagnostics and paid $567.22 for the ff:
1. Replace intake gasket and fuel injector gasket & upper intake gasket
2. Diagnostc run with EECV codep0171 & P0174 - Test
3. MAF & Throttle Body service

I brought the car home but noticed that the engine is running rought and making rattling noise but was told by the dealer that I have to pay an extra $698.45 to replace a bad Syncromer which I turned it down because the car was running fine before they started working on my Explorer.
