getting v8 power from a v6

i have a 98 explorer with a 4.0 v6 and i only have 90,000 miles on it, but im planning on rebuilding the engine soon and getting it bored out as much as possible, and im also going to get a better camshaft. I'd like it to put out power like a v8 without having to use a turbo or supercharger. I also want it to idle really low like an old V8 with a good cam does. im wanting to put a 347 stroker into my truck but i dont wanna have to buy a new tranny or anything. I'd rather keep my v6 and try to squeeze as much power out of it. I have straight pipes on my truck now and it sounds good, do think it would sound better or more deeper if i had my V6 bored out and new cam put in?

Do you have a 4.0 OHV or SOHC?

Since you don't want to FORCE-FEED the 4.0, you can spend your coins on a Tom Morana STOKER kit for the Ford 4.0 OHV and SOHC.

You can also get some more goodies at Explorer Express.

The 4.0 SOHC has a 3.950" bore with a 3.32" stroke. The MAX you can bore the 4.0 out to is 3.980" without having any cylinder wall failure. You can also up the stroke to 3.50". This will give you a 4.3L Stoker engine. Basically what the Tom Morana stoker kit does for you.
