Default BAD COLD IDLE

hi i have a RHD 1999 ford explorer north face 4ltr sohc, the idle is irratic when cold, upto 1500 rpm them dropping to 500 and the engine seams to be holding back and a strong smell of fuel as if over fueling, i have replaced the lamber sensors in the exhaust, and the idle control valve, also tried the maf sensor, and replaced the coolant temp sensor first, when the engine warms up the car drives lovely, but this cold idle is very anoying, i have checked for vacum leaks, also have had transmission oil and filter changed resently, the problem seams to have got worse when the lamber sensors was changed, but we have checked there operation and they seem to be ok with a diognostic check, I would bea greatfull of any suggestions of what to check next as my local ford dealer have had the car and are at a loss, we have also recharged the air con

try DPFE sensor ,,, I dont know alot about your paticuler year explorer or anything but going by this website link i found and going by what you said you already looked into, it couldnt hurt togive this DPFE sensor a look. heres the website i read about your explorer at http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/Re...&trimid=-1 hope you figure it out keep us posted...
