Power lift gate actuator

I have a 2014 Ford Explorer XLT and the power lift gate will not open or close. If I push a button to open it the door releases but doesn't open. If I manually open the lift gate and push a button to close it, it does nothing. Tried doing the reset from the manual but didn't change anything. Is it possible that the lift gate actuator is no good? Or is there something else I could try? Thanks for your help.

Sounds like the motor is bad.
If you want I can post wiring diagrams so you can do diag.

Hi I was able to fix the problem is was the lift gate actuator. Mine is a 2014 but I purchased the actuator for a 2015 and it was an exact match and worked perfectly. The 2015 actuator is half the price of the 2014 one.

This the part number for the 2015 part I bought.

What year do you have?
What exactly happens when you push the open button?
What exactly happens when you push the close button?
I can rule out some stuff if you say exactly what happens, such as does the latch release, does the motor make noise, ect.
