often when the windows are down, they wont raise, I can hear a faint click under the dash than they will go up, does any one know the location of the power window relay, or can this be some other problem?

 

What year explorer?..

Are'all' windows affected at the same time?.. Always on the switch'up'command.. Possibly the Accessory Delay Relay or Gem... But would 'most likely' be an issue in both directions.. Verify MY...

 

1996 Explorer, all windows are effected on up and down

 

Power distribution to the master window control panel is through the Accessory Delay Relay, powered/controlled On/Off by the GEM Module.. The Accesory Delay Relay is in the 'Relay Module' that carries the Battery Saver Relay, One Touch Down Relay, Accessory Delay..

If the relay coil current, or contacts go intermittent, the power to the switch panel will be as well..

What did you replace to get the power windows to work. I have the same problem presently with my 1996 Explorer. Thanks

 

Help! I have this same problem and to add interest to the issue when the engine is off, in park and the any door is opened the doom lights blink off and on with the relay clicks. There is no visible movement on the amp gauge, no window will operate and all of the switch lamp are lite.
