Default Programming for OEM Nav Upgrade

I have an 06 Explorer EB. It originally came with the 6-disc changer. I purchased a Ford OEM Nav radio for it and installed. All is working good except the backlights on the radio, the radio sensing day or night and the radio controls on the steering wheel. The radio is also showing an error when it starts.

Took to the dealer who said that the truck is giving a code: #2247 and that the truck can not be programmed to accept the new radio. This seems odd to me as the Nav is original Ford equipment and the truck offered NAV as an upgrade.

Anyone know how to program the truck to accept the radio? Can I do this or does it need to go to a dealer?

Thanks!
