I can only pump in 50 cents at a time as gas pump keeps clicking off...I replace the vent value, canister, blew out all the lines and still doesn't work,,Its driving me
crazy and other suggestions or help!! 2008 Explorer 4.0 L xlt

 

I have an '05 Explorer XLT Sport, and before this one I had an '04 Explorer XLT NBX and they both had this issue.

This last winter in North Dakota I don't think I ever filled my tank, it was so damn cold and the pump kept clicking off like it was full.

The good news is, you just have to play with it a little. On mine I couldn't just put the nozzle in and let the handle hang. I have to stand there and hold the handle so that the tip of the nozzle is inside the gas tank filler just enough so gas isn't shooting back out at you.

If you get it positioned right and you don't mind having to stand there with the pump, you can fill up as if the problem never existed. Hope that works for you at least until you can find the actual fix for it.
