Rear Strut/Coil Assy Removal & Replace

Can anyone out there provide instructions on how to replace the rear coil spring or the entire spring/strut assembly.

Is it better to replace the entire assembly, or coil spring.

I have a broken spring w/ ~145k miles and trying to determine what I want to do.

Thanks

Most of the time those springs break due to corrosion from road ice melting chemicals.
I $$ permits and with those miles on the vehicle best move is to replace the entire assy ON BOTH SIDES. A common problem in rust belt areas. Check the front ones too. A spring can break puncture the tire resulting in costs for towing, tire replacement and spring replacement. If possible , better to replace them before they break on the road.
Depending on the year the repair may be covered by a recall. What year is the vehicle?

That's how it's done.

Have fun. Have the alignment checked when you are done.
