Default Rear Taillight

I am having trouble with my rear passenger taillight/blinker on my 2001 Explorer Sport. I have replaced both the bulbs as well as the fuse and still luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Does it light up at all? Reverse lightingI take it is completely out. Could bea ground problem for that corner section of wiring.

I think it lights up when I am in reverse. But that could be incorrect also. I could have imagined seeing red brake lights in the reflection. How easy of a fix is this? Is it a possible do-it-yourselfer for an amateur, or do I need to suck it up and get a mechanic to look at it?

A voltage meter will tell you for sure where the problem is. By tracing the wiring -starting at the bulb's quick disconnect- and working your way back into the cargo area. If this is something you don't feel comfortable about, take it to someone whocan fix it right.
