Replacing Cruise Control Modules on 97 Explorer Steering Wheel

Can anyone tell me how to replace these two modules on my 1997 Explorer Sport without having an airbag for lunch?
Thanks

Disconnet the batteryand wait 2 minutes before your start working on it!
(You will have to reset all your radio stations, but the airbag will not go off!).

There are 2 plastic plugs on the right and left side of the sterring column near the steering wheel. Carefull pry out with a very small flat blade screwdriver. You will uncover the 2 small bolts that hold in the airbag. Remove them and partially pull out the air bag assy, unplug the electrical connector and place it aside. Now you can access the speed control buttons. They are not cheap! I believe they are $75 each.

The bulbs had burned out in mine, but Ford does not sell those little bulbs. You have to buy the whole assy!

Found a great place for parts of any kind-- if not known already- it's rockauto.com-- competetive pricing
